Global Mixer

Overview

All VST plug-ins loaded into energyXT will show up in the Global Mixer. For each VST, you have volume control with leds per active/routed audio output, a program browser and the option to add internal VST parameters. By adding the most used VST parameters to the mixer (filter frequency, Q etc), you don't need to open the VST editor just for some sound tweaking, you can do it right there in the mixer.

Automating volume with CC

Each VST audio output can be automated by MIDI CC. Click the menu-button next to the volume fader and select Map to cc.

Adding VST parameters to the mixer

Click the menu-button next to the VST name, and select Show Param from the popup menu. Finally, select the parameter you want to be able to tweak in the mixer.

A VST parameter can also be automated by MIDI CC just like with volume. Click the menu-button next to the VST parameter fader, and select Map to cc.

Each VST plug-in can be minimized in the Global Mixer. Click the button to the right of the VST name to do toggle between minimized and maximized.

An example

This example uses Muon's Tau and shows how to automate the filter cutoff with a MIDI Envelope. TauCutoffMod.zip. Load this file into your own copy of energyXT.
